The format for this annual is essentially unchanged: a large collection of short articles on a variety of topics surrounds a calendar running from Spring Equinox 2007 to Spring Equinox 2008. This year we have a number of new contributors, including Lupa, Taylor Ellwood and Jason Pitzl-Waters.
One of the strengths of this annual is the multiple points of view (especially if you have been reading the almanac over several years). Usually, the eclectics dominate, and this year is no different. Of course the weakness is that the good articles feel too short, and there aren’t enough of them (I have yet to enjoy every single article in the Almanac), although this year is a higher-quality collection.
If you don’t like Llewellyn books, you won’t like the Wicca Almanac. If you like reading interesting perspectives from a group of new voices and the opinions of those who have been walking the path of Wicca for many decades, then you will enjoy it.
