Nicholas Pearson is a solid researcher and writer, so it was with happy anticipation that I opened his latest, Crystals for Psychic Self-Defense: 145 Gemstones for Banishing, Binding, and Magickal Protection.
Pearson does it again!
Let's face it, these are unbelievably difficult times for most of us, and the level of psychic crap floating around is at an all-time high. Pearson is downright prophetic at offering us this loving book on protecting and healing ourselves from magickal and psychic attack. Energy work and magick are best done when the aether is clean and quiet, one reason why so much of what we do takes place at night. But when we're all walking around feeling literally bombarded by the bad energy of people in pain, media grubbing for emotional triggers, and our own difficult circumstances, extra protection seems like a particularly good idea.
As with all of his books, Pearson shows the reader how to build a solid foundation in crystal practices. He begins with the basics of crystals: how to cleanse, program, and activate them as well as their specific purposes. Included are his wisdom on the different shapes, cuts and forms that crystals can take. He then moves on to a comprehensive look at magickal protection, including warding the home, personal protection, reversals, binding and banishing, and even cursing, hexing or crossing with crystals, I particularly appreciate his considerations and ethical questions.
Pearson is a succinct and organized writer with a down to earth approach to the subject, making this an excellent book people of all levels of experience with crystals. Each section also has a list of crystals that are helpful for each purpose, intent, etc., and at the end of the book, all 145 gemstones are given descriptions, composition details, qualities and spiritual/metaphysical and magickal properties.
Crystals for Psychic Self-Defense is a must for energetic practitioner!
