The author begins the book by telling of her own story and how she started as a medium. Readers may find similar experiences themselves while following along.

The book has 10 chapters that include: Your Mediumship Journey, Spirits of the Dead, Deities and Higher Beings, Negative Entities, Other Oddities and Possibilities, Spirit Communication Fundamentals, Six Steps of Spirit Communication, Bells and Whistles, Haunted Places People and Things, and Ethical Considerations.

The book is set up to be a working journal with the lessons in each chapter. The reader will be able to start their own journey as they follow along and it is recommended the reader have a journal or grimoire they can record their thoughts and experiences along the way.

The writing style is easy to follow and guides the reader every step of the way. No matter where the reader is in regards to familiarity on the subject, anyone can participate and follow. She provides personal anecdotes but also gives the reader a walkthrough on the lesson so they can record their personal experiences.

The book covers various types of entities, and spirits that may be encountered since not all may be human. I found the story she tells about helping a young medium who had an unpleasant attachment both fascinating and scary. While this may be a rare occurrence, it was interesting to read and shows readers the various things they may encounter.

This book really resonated with me. I loved the personal stories, the lessons, and thought provoking questions in each chapter. I highly recommend this book for your magical shelf especially if you have ever had the desire to communicate with the other side.
