The most refreshing part of this book comes right at the beginning, where the reader is warned that alchemy is an inherently dangerous practice, that formal laboratory training is required.
Most books about alchemy concentrate on the spiritual aspects, on the theory of transformation. That’s fine, and important in it’s own right. But the origin of alchemy is in the lab, and The Way of the Crucible puts the reader right back there.
Recommended.
