A wonderful marriage between a coloring book and a tarot "how-to" book, the Tarot by Design Workbook by Diana Heyne is a fun and education book anyone interested in tarot could enjoy. Adding in the coloring aspect can really help the reader get a better understanding of the intricacies of the tarot designs. This can really help the reader become a better tarot reader; helping them see the smaller details of the tarot designs can really help them do more detailed and accurate tarot readings.

Each of the 78 tarot cards has it's own set of two pages. The left page has traditional interpretations for each card, including reversed meanings. Additionally there is room for the reader to write down their own personal uses and interpretations for each card. The right page is the coloring page.  With designs that seem to be based on the Rider-Waite tarot deck, the coloring pages are detailed yet not too difficult for the casual colorist to be able to do and enjoy. Lastly there's several pages at the back of the book for readers to draw their own designs, write notes or even journal if they wanted to.

I was really happy to see that the author included the minor arcana. So often the major arcana, or trump cards, gets so much more attention than the minor arcana, so when I saw all suits and cards were included it made me very happy, and much more excited about this book. I do have to say that I wish the pages were perforated, but since the reverse side of the coloring page has the next cards description page, I can understand why they're not. All in all a wonderful book I highly recommend!
