This is another one of Jamie Wood’s gorgeous books – over-sized, on good paper, and filled with many color illustrations, recipes, and snippets of herbal lore. One hundred frequently used (or called for) herbs are discussed, each with a snippet of information, recipes, magickal uses, and a bit of lore. The first couple of chapters discuss gardening and green magick.
I found myself comparing this book with Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs. If you are looking for a really useful herbal that focuses on the magickal uses and lore, get Cunningham’s book. If you want something that is a delight to browse and that adds to your knowledge in unexpected ways, then The Wicca Herbal is a perfect choice.
