As a writer, keeping a journal is a very important tool, and when I went shopping online for a new one (I tend to go through about four a year) I found Amber Lotus Publishing. It’s not often I fall madly in love with a publishing house, but I have with this one. As I browsed the calendars, journals, books and cards, all beautifully done, I knew I had to request a review.
Amber Lotus Publishing was gracious enough to send me not one, but three journals. Each one is exquisite.
Make Believe is a wonderful little pocket journal that fits neatly into a purse, but is not so small that you can’t write on it. The paper is made from recycled paper, and quite heavy, the ink is soy based. The back is perfect bound and is very durable. I tend to be rough with journals, and this one is holding up exceptionally well. I love the cover art, which is so lovely and so ethereal. It invites the user to put her thoughts, hopes and dreams onto its pages.
The inside is illustrated as well with small block prints of castles, birds, women on horseback and ladies in waiting.
I adore this little journal and I’m sure you will too. My only criticism? I wish the lines were a little darker.
