From the man who can rightfully be called the father of modern witchcraft and forty-five years after its first publication, this hard to find volume is once again available to the general reader. There are no revisions, additions, or corrections; the volume stands alone as it was in 1959. For historical reasons alone, every person calling herself Wiccan will want this book on her shelves.

I suspect that at least some of the material will take modern witches by surprise, if only because we have newer information about the historical ‘facts’ that Gardner relays. But this book provides a link to our common past as witches as well to our evolution as vibrant, involved practitioners of our faith.
