In Container Magic, author Charity Bedell shares with readers the basics of container spellcraft with an eclectic mix of Conjure, Hoodoo, European Folk Magic and modern witchcraft. With over 100 spells contained within the book, it’s presented in an easy to follow format for everyone.

The book is broken into three parts. Part I covers the basics such as getting started, choosing your containers, the fillings, working, feeding & recharging your container and ending spells & content disposal. Part II dives into Spells & Magical Works with sections for Jar spells, Bottle spells, Ball spells, Box, Tin & Chest spells, Sachet & Charm bag spells, Packet spells and Poppet & Doll spells. The final Part III is Resources such as Herbal & Root Correspondences, Crystal, Metal & Mineral Correspondences, Magical Properties & Locations, Curios & other Materials, Incense and Oil Recipes. There is also a lovely Appendix to look up by Exercises, Ritual & Spells in order of appearance or Spells by need.

The author explains that Container Magic is basically utilizing any type of container used for storage and turning it into a magical tool. There are a wide variety of items that can be used for the desired intentions. The author guides the reader along to help them determine what type of container should be used most effectively for the end goal. The writing style is easy to follow and takes the reader step by step to create their own magic. Once the reader has answered some of the questions the author poses, they are guided how to properly cleanse the container with provided rituals. I love how the book is presented in a way that everything can be adaptable. Items and containers do not have to cost a lot and often can be done using material already in the home.

The remainder of the book is the various spells that can be done with various containers. The spells provide everything you need and walk the reader step by step on how to perform the various ones available.

This is a great book to add to your magical collection and can be referenced time and time again as needed.
