Magickal Mediumship: Partnering with the Ancestors for Healing and Spiritual Development

Everyone has the ability to communicate with the other side. Just like any other skill or ability, it takes practice. No matter what level your mediumship ability is, author Danielle Dionne shares how the reader can connect with the dead in Magickal Mediumship. While there are a lot of books on the market to develop psychic abilities, this one stands out with its focus on combining it with magickal practices. The author includes easy to follow rituals, exercises, and rites to aid on developing your abilities while empowering your magickal path.

The book is broken into four parts. In Part One the focus is on Mediumship and Magick. The first 5 chapters will introduce the reader to Magick and Mediumship basics, The soul, and the Ancestors. She covers energies, elements, and the Clair-Senses (Clairvoyance (seeing), Clairaudience (hearing), Clairsentience (feel), Claircognizance (knowing), Clairgustance (taste), and Clairscentency (smelling). The Clairs are the way the dead communicate and these can vary from medium to medium. Some mediums can experience all of the Clairs, and some only experience a few. The important thing is to be aware so messages from the other side can come through.

In Part two, the author dives into Connecting with the Dead. The reader will learn how to properly create sacred space, how to clear that space after, as well as how to call in your spiritual team for protection and prepare for the readings. The exercises provided are great and ones you will want to reference time and again.

The chapters on the session and messages are some of the most important for doing this work. If the reader is doing a session for another person, they want to ensure they have the right connection and are also delivering the messages in a way that the other person understands. These sessions can be joyful, or open up grief all over again, so it is important for these chapters to be studied and practiced.

Part three explores Partnering with the Dead. For most of those who follow a magickal path, working with spirit guides is not new. As in our magickal workings, it is just as important to have your spirit allies assist you when working with the dead. Your various guides have different roles to protect you as well as help you in your journey. For readers who haven’t done much work in this area, she provides some great exercises and questions you can use to develop that relationship.

The book includes chapters on working with plants, gemstones, animals etc. to further your work. I particularly connected with the animal spirit allies as that is who I work with frequently. Again the book is a great resource to have on hand whether you are a beginner or more advanced for references.

The final part of the book is called Death Comes For Us All. For most people death is a scary thing and they do not want to discuss or think about it. However it is inevitable, if we accept this, we can move towards a better understanding of the other side and lose that fear. Death is part of the life cycle but we know it is not our final destination.

I recommend this book for anyone on a magickal path that wants to journey further in connecting with the other side and enhancing their mediumship abilities.
