Sacred Trickery and the Way of Kindness: The Radical wisdom of Jodo was not the book I expected it to be. In many ways Sacred Trickery seems like a book best characterized by self development or perhaps even self help. While the blurb on the back does indicate that the book discusses in detail the life of Alejandro Jodorowsky it also indicates that there is much discussion on living the Way of Kindness.  However that couldn't be farther from the truth.  While there is some discussion on the Way of Kindness, it is in no way in the sense of personal development.

The entirety of Sacred Trickery and the Way of Kindness is interviews with Alejandro Jorodowesky as well as interviews with people who have in turn interviewed Jorodowsky. There are three sections in this book, each with chapters.  The first and second sections are composed of interviews with Jorodowsky himself.  The first from the early 1980's, the second from the early 2000's.  The third section has the interviews with others.  There is a lovely introduction which does a great job explaining who Jorodowsky is.

All that said this book is well written, well organized and would be quite a treat for anyone who is interested in the life and/or works of Alejandro Jodorowsky and I would highly recommend it.  Beyond that however, I don't see where Sacred Trickery would be of any use to anyone.
