The second in a series, The Outer Temple of Witchcraft is an excellent continuation of the work begun with The Inner Temple of Witchcraft. Each volume of this five volume series stands alone elegantly, but when taken altogether they form the solid core of a cohesive system of magical theory and practice.

There is a lot of information that might be found in other sources, but it is presented in such a variety of ways, even if the ‘tried and true’ has never worked for you. Most valuably: there is an enormous amount of encouragement to experiment with many modes to find the connections that work for the individual. With many examples and exercises, readers can try things out and discover what techniques work best for them. At the same time, Mr. Penczak is direct about why he does things particular ways, allowing the reader to begin to develop a sense of critical thinking.

The companion CD is a delight. Every piece is resonant, excellently executed, and potentially transformative. I strongly recommend this book, and its companion CD.
