A yoni egg is a semiprecious stone carved into an egg shape and polished to be worn inside the vagina. Some claim that women have been using stone eggs in this manner for more than 5,000 years to access sexual power, awaken sensuality and maintain health into their old age. Up until recently, this ancient, secret practice was only available to members of the (Chinese) royal family, and to select Taoist practitioners.

“Yoni” is a Sanskrit word for the female genitalia that means “sacred space.” Its symbol has been worshiped in Eastern cultures since ancient times for bestowing life, creativity and love. We will be using the term “yoni” to bring appreciation and acknowledgment – so often lacking in Western culture – to the creative power this magical part of the female body holds.

Author Mace is neither a member of the Chinese royal family, nor a Taoist practitioner, but she was inspired by Orpah Winfrey and has interviewed a lot of people about how they create a conscious, healthy life. The Yoni Egg is a collection of information and techniques that other practitioners have created, augmented by lots and lots of quotes from women. There is literally no scientific evidence for any of the techniques mentioned.
