Fans of Janice Faber know from her previous albums (Measures of Grace and Rest Assured, both collections of solo piano arrangements of traditional hymns) that she can play, and beautifully. With Carried Away, we know that she can compose beautifully as well.

These sixteen songs are just lovely. Soothing and uplifting, they can serve as the perfect background music, or the album you put on to calm down at the end of a tension filled day.

The song “Looking Forward” opens the album and is one of my favorites, along with “Passing Through” and “Night Music.” All of the songs are lovely, clearly the result of years of careful crafting and honing.
