The debut CD by this New Jersey native is soulful, bluesy and just a bit melancholic.  With a soft acoustic sound I found the collection reminiscent of Nora Jones’s first offering.  Seductive and touching, Angelucci sings her own torch songs, a few uplifting songs, and covers the Heart classic “Alone”.  The musical arrangements are perfect and never overpower the vocals.  The result is an intimate sound that leads you to close your eyes and move gently to the music.

Angelucci spent eight years honing her skills in Manhattan singing on Bleeker Street and in the Bowery.  Now she’s living and singing in San Francisco. There hasn’t been a lot of hype about this CD and even the page devoted to it on CD Baby is fairly bare.  Don’t let the lack of accolades fool you.  Liz Angelucci has talent, a sweet voice, and a way with lyrics. While the CD is short (only eight recordings) it is well worth the price.
